Following a report by HaChadashot news in Israel, Police revealed that they, together with representatives of the Attorney General’s office, have been conducting an investigation into high ranking members of the Health Department who are under suspicion for corruption.

The investigation, which is still ongoing, is looking into evidence regarding numerous organization and persons of interest, who succeeded at holding meetings with members of the Health Ministry with regards to policy decisions for matters concerning the Ministry, and in return, the officials, via proxy, received tens of thousands of shekel.

As of yet, the Deputy Chairman of the Health Ministry as well as the Deputy Ministry Yaakov Litzman, have yet to be question with regards to their suspected involvement in the case.

Litzman issued a statement saying that he knew nothing about the corruption or any of the cases in which it is suspected that the corruption took place. Litzman said that he doesn’t require money to set up a meeting. “I meet with everyone who wants to meet with me.”
