Satmar Leadership of Brooklyn, Presents Award of Appreciation to NYPD Commissioner Kelly


YW-Satmar With Kelly-09.jpg(Click HERE for photos) Today, February 27, 2008, leaders of the Satmar Congregation of Brooklyn met with New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly to discuss community matters, and to thank him for his great support and effort for the Satmar community all these years. 

The Satmar delegation was led by the Vice President of the Congregation Yitzchok Rosenberg; President of the UTA of Boro Park, Rabbi Aron Welz; administrator of the United Talmudical Academy (UTA) Rabbi Leib Glanz, and NYPD City-Wide Liaison & community leader Moshe Indig.

Rabbi Yitzchok Rosenberg voiced his great admiration for the Police Commissioner for the continuous support and protection for Cong Yetev Lev D’Satmar of Brooklyn, which is the largest Hasidic sect in the City of New York, with the largest school system Central UTA of Williamsburg and UTA of Boro Park, with a total of 9000 children.

Commissioner Kelly promised his full support and committed his resources to addressing Satmar concerns, and he will instruct his staff and the members of his department to collaborate with community leaders on all significant affairs. 

At the conclusion of the consultation, the Satmar representatives presented Commissioner Kelly with an award in appreciation of his dedicated, steadfast, and indefatigable efforts during his seven years in office.
