What are the pros and cons of disposable diapers vs. cloth diapers? I know that cloth ends up being far cheaper in the long run but is it worth it? Has anyone in the CR used cloth for their kids?

For pesach we only use cloth

Which detergent do you use? I haven’t found one that is kosher l’pesach yet.

As long as the cotton wasn’t grown adjacent to a wheat field, you’re ok.

One maaleh of disposable diapers is that according to most poskim you don’t have to toivel them.

So you need a hechsher on the farm where the cotton grew then. How do you find out?

    DaasYochid,

Note that you should tovel the disposables too if you use them more than once.

No, because, by reusing it, you are in essence the one who made it into a keli.

We used cloth diapers for two of our oldest children because of allergies/skin reactions to the disposables.
We used a diaper service and they dirty diapers went in a covered pail in a shed next to the back door. Back then (about 40 years ago) it was $5 per week per child. Pampers cost about $25 per week per child.
We have 2 grandchildren using cloth diapers. Our daughter has a separate washing machine in the basement for the diapers (she bought it on Craigslist for $50).

I take it you’re joking about toiveling diapers. Diapers aside, does anybody actually say this sevara regarding disposable keilim?

My family has a minhag to try to avoid rashes year round, but I don’t think they’re chametz.
