Israel Police launched a six-month program designed to increase awareness among officers regarding weight and remaining in good physical condition. The department hopes to lose almost 1,000kg collectively.
Experts were brought in to teach policemen how to exercise and maintain a proper diet towards maintaining an ideal weight. One smiling officer includes Commander Chaim Ponomonsky, 47, an aide to the spokesman of the Coast District, who lost 38kg (83.7 lbs). Another officer, Eyal Merom, 36, from Haifa, lost 24kg (52.9 lbs).
Police officials are working hard to stress the need to remain healthy and fit, especially in their line of work, investing time, effort and department funds to bring personnel to an improved level of good health.
