Baruch Dayan HaEmmes: HaGaon HaRav Yosef Shmuel Rosenblatt ZT”L, a leading talmid chacham in Bnei Brak, was niftar at the age of 85.

The niftar was born in Yerushalayim in Teves 5693 to Rav Yaakov Rosenblatt ZT”L. He decided to learn in Ponevezh and became very close to Maran HaGaon HaRav Elazar Menachem Mann Shach ZT”L and Mashgiach HaGaon HaTzaddik Rav Yechezkel Levinstein ZT”L as well as Roshei Yeshiva.

He married the daughter of Rav Zechariah David Wallis ZT”L and dedicated his entire life to Torah. As an elder, he sat in the Breslov Kollel on Alshich Street near his beloved place of tefilla in Ponevezh. He was like any other talmid and was seen during seder limud mussar too.

He served as a melamed in Talmid Torah Toras Emmes and made his imprint on generations of children. The talmidim of Yeshivas Ponevezh told Chadrei Chareidim how they loved to engage him in a conversation, and to just be around him, always providing them with facts about the rabbonim with whom he was so close.

The levaya began at 10:30AM on Monday, 10 Nissan, from his home at 106 Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak to kvura in Har Menuchos.
