INN: More than 75,000 children and parents, including a large number of secular Israelis, are parading at this hour through Jerusalem in the “aliyah-dah” celebration of a year-long program of learningthrough the B’resheet program under the direction of Rabbi Moti Elon.
Parents and children learn the Torah portion of the week throughout the year, and the idea has attracted non-observant as well as observant sectors. Toward the Shavuot holiday celebration of the first fruits that were brought during the time of the Holy Temples, the children have brought food for poor people. The parade is to end around 7 p.m. and will be followed by entertainment at Gan Sakar.
