As a result of involvement in a vehicular accident, a Jerusalem light rail derailed on Sunday morning, 2 Nissan, in the northern Pisgat Ze’ev neighborhood of the capital.
There were light injuries to passengers of a vehicle.
The accident took place at the intersection of Moshe Dayan Blvd. and Chaim Toran Street, causing the light rail to slide off the tracks.
A statement released by light rail officials indicates that it appears the driver of a private vehicle ran a red light and struck the passing train, pushing it in part off the rail. As a result, service is halted between Givat HaMivtar and Cheil Avir (Pisgat Ze’ev).
