MK Menachem Eliezer Moses on Thursday morning, 21 Adar, spoke with Kol Chai Radio, explaining “I just checked and there is nothing, absolutely nothing”. He explained that he looked to see if proposal or something was put forward by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to approve, but there was nothing.
While he too prefers avoiding elections, as he explained, Moses was clear, there would be no compromise on the matter of the drafting of bnei torah.
It was pointed out that whatever the new law may be, there can be no doubt it will eventually find its way before the High Court, and this law will be disqualified as were the previous versions.
Moses added, “This has been the case for the past 48 years, and it will continue for an additional 48 years if that is what must be. The bottom line is we must realize not a single ben torah who wishes to continue learning will have to leave his shtender and that is the bottom line”.
Moses added Prime Minister Netanyahu returns from the US on erev Shabbos, and he cannot consult with his advisor Yaakov Weinroth on Shabbos since the latter is frum. Hence, he expects Weinroth and the Prime Minister will be meeting on motzei Shabbos and then all concerned will be informed where the situation stands.
