Jerusalem – Tel Aviv Express Train To Begin Operating Sukkos

The express train from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv which was supposed to launch for this Pesach will be up and running for Sukkos, promises Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz. During a Monday 18 Adar session of the Knesset Audit Committee discussing the delay in the train service launch, it was announced the service will begin before Sukkos and riders will be permitted to use the service free of charge during Chol Hamoed Sukkos.

It was also announced the train would run three times hourly, and during phase one, the tracks would be activated until the HaShalom Station.

About two weeks ago, it was announced that the train service would not launch in time for Pesach as expected, but that it would be delayed for six months. Beginning Shavuos, test runs of the line will take place along the length of the line.
