New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) had harsh words for fellow Democrat Danny Davis when it was revealed that the Congressman from Illinois proudly associates with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite.

Davis reportedly confirmed in an interview Sunday with the Daily Caller that he has a personal relationship with Farrakhan, and that he “isn’t bothered by Farrakhan’s position on ‘the Jewish question.’”

Farrakhan has repeatedly denounced Jews as “satanic,” praised Hitler as a “very great man” and has said that white people “deserve to die.”

Davis had previously told The Daily Caller that he considers Farrakhan an “outstanding human being” and said he regularly meets with Farrakhan. On Sunday, he reiterated: “I know Farrakhan, been knowing him for years and years and years and years and years.” Davis also bragged to the Daily Caller that he knows Farrakhan better than Democratic Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, a former Nation of Islam member who repeatedly attended meetings with Farrakhan during his time in Congress.

“Congressman Davis should be ashamed of himself,” said Hikind. “He is not some freshman Congressman who can claim ignorance of what Farrakhan is; the Congressman has represented his constituents for two decades. He knows that Farrakhan, who praises Hitler, would actually be in good company with the fascist, murdering dictator.

“It’s a sick double standard that many so-called progressive liberals have adopted. They jump up to defend human rights of some, but then are willing to associate themselves with notorious haters like Linda Sarsour or Louis Farrakhan. They look away from the horrible things these people espouse and would be willing to do to the human beings they oppose if only they had the power to do so.

“Louis Farrakhan is not a borderline character. He is a frothing, raving anti-Semite, anti-white demagogue whose message is frightening and dangerous.”
