So at this point in time, is it still a good idea to visit auschwitz poland? Is it doing more harm than good? Of course we need to be aware of our sad and miserable history, but is pumping money into the jew hating country a good idea, especially now when they showed their true face with no shame? Will we still be sending students on organized trips? Are we afraid that if we boycott the place they might destroy it or stop maintaining it? So not only they tried wiping us out and stole all our possessions, we repay them by paying them some more.

Auschwitz has no admission fee so you are not supporting them that way, Besides its not free to Maintain, there is alot of security there , metal detectors, guards , tour guides and other maintainance to keep the place safe. Ill assume you are buying Kosher food (Actually quite easily available in Poland, especially in Warsaw and Krakow) . You are buying them from Jews so you really arent supporting the Poles
You are supporting them by staying at a Hotel and flying in, however not all all Poles support this policy especially in Krakow which is the basic center of Jewish life in Poland today
There are very few survivors left, notbody to tell the story, the only witnesses to the attrocities are the camps themselves and I can tell you its not the same as pictures, Nothing can prepare you for a visit to Auschwitz, you just have to go. You will not forget it

Well ya, thats enough support, as well as transportation all around poland im assuming you arent just walking everywhere, im also sure some people buy souvenirs as well as visit other stores, or other attractions around the area

Most people go to Auschwitz , Majidanek, Yeshiva Chachmei Lublib, The Warsaw Ghetto, The Noyzk Synagogue (The only shul to survive the warsaw Ghetto) , Shindlers Factory and the Polin , the jewish history museum of Poland. Many also go to Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec , Nowy Sanz (Sanz) and Góra Kalwaria (Ger)
March 4, 2018 8:57 am at 8:57 am #1480200zahavasdadParticipantYeshiva Chachmei Lublin was actually given back to the Jewish community and is now partially a hotel and restaurant (Its also called Hotel IIan) , Its actually quite a large building and they have to make money to keep up the building (even so its a little worn down inside), You can stay at the hotel if you dont want to support the Poles, its main drawback is that its in Lublin which isnt where most of the places you want to go are (Lublin is 2-3 hours from Warsaw or Krakow) ,m However by staying there you are supporting the yeshiva that is there, they even do the Daf Yomi there now.
I do not know if there are any jewish guest houses in Warsaw or Krakow (Krakow is the main jewish area of Poland today) However given how many religious jews go to Krakow, it is possible there is some sort of jewish hotel there
