The Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg Rav Zalman Leib Teitlebaum Shlita is scheduled to visit Eretz Yisrael in two months. The rebbe is coming to attend the chasenah of a grandchild, scheduled to take place on 15 Shevat in Beit Shemesh.
Some 3,000 chassidim from the United States and another 2,000 from Europe are among the tens of thousands expected to take part in the event. The tickets were ordered well in advance to make certain to secure a spot, on Delta Airlines of course since Satmar will not use El Al.
When Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently announced early elections would be held on 11 Shevat 5773, a request was sent to the rebbe to move up his flight to permit him to address an anti-election kenos of the Eida Chareidis. The rebbe’s gabbaim passed the request along to Delta officials, and of course, realizing the volume of the Satmar account, Delta accommodated.
Interestingly, the story is also reported by The Marker, which explains to readers how Satmar is “anti-Zionist” and will not support El Al, adding that “the joke is with thousands coming from abroad to take part in the wedding”, the Satmar chassidim are bringing an enormous revenue to the State of Israel, not to mention the “millions that the rebbe will distribute to mosdos in Israel during his stay”.

That’s because to those of us with saychil we know and understand there is a MAJOR difference between anti-zionist and anti-yiddin. Satmar has issues with the mdina having to do with the secular. Satmar has a lot of chasidim in EY. The proof is in the pudding as far as that is concerned.
You may not agree with their shitas but we should give them credit for being shtark in those shitas.

If Satmar was really so “Anti Zionist”, they should stay in New York! Its very hypocritical for them to visit Israel and certainly not to live in such a terrible place! Satmar Chasidim don’t have kipat cholim? They never take City Buses? They never go to the Emergency room? They never buy bread or cheese (they are also subsidized by the treifa Government)? They give birth on their living room couch? What a bunch of fake phonie frauds!

The macroeconomic impact of the visit is actually fairly significant, especially as it is focused among the Hareidi community. However that is true of all activities by Diaspora Hareidim who visit Eretz Yisrael, whether to learn or as tourists. It is an article of faith among the zionists that Hareidi contributions to the Israeli economy are non-existent, so they ignore this impact.

You have to understand that while they don’t take from the medina, those living in ERETZ YISROEL (as opposed to Israel) pay their taxes. they have nothing against the actual land and people living there, they only oppose the secular government and the way of life they try to impose. Reb Zalman Leib himself was rov of satmar in yerushalayim about 15 years ago.

These people you are bad mouthing are an asset to the country and an example from whom many of us can learn.They know what it is to survive on the bare minimum and be happy. They live normal lives and give birth in hospitals as Shaarei Tzedek and Bikur Cholim.
They may send their children to Yeshivos that are privately funded and don’t take from the government, yet pay taxes.
On another note however, Delta and El Al are partner airlines. Meaning if you are a Matmid member of El Al you can get your points if you fly Delta and vica versa.
They must also be against United Airlines because of its name…

he trip of the Satmar Rebbe is very historic, as this is the first time as Rebbe as he comes to give tremendous moral & financial support to the mosdos who fiercely decline to take any funding from the unholy Zionists.
