VIDEO: Progress And Road Closures In Jerusalem’s Future

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

In a few years, according to plan, Jerusalem will look considerably different than it does today as buildings will get taller, transportation including the light rail will expand, and new roads and tunnels will be created. There will be the express train line between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, as well as the new commercial center, and this will lead to a greater separation between public transportation and private vehicles by the nature of the increasing public transportation network.

In stage one, the road between the Ima Restaurant and Nordau Junction will be closed, as construction of the next leg of the light rail system gets underway. This will occur in the middle of March, as the road closure will remain closed for the coming years. That means, one must use an alternate route, which can be accomplished by using Rabin Blvd. and Herzl to bypass the construction, and connecting to the tunnel by Sacher Park or via Heichal L’Mishpat Street which is being established especially to provide an alternate route.

There will also be a 24-hour WhatApp group providing information.
