Askanim are full of praise for Housing Minister (Shas) Ariel Atias, explaining that since assuming the cabinet post, he has announced bids for land to build 130,000 housing units, resulting in the ongoing construction of 83,500 homes today. This represents a 13-year building record.

HaMevaser quotes Atias as saying “There has been a building boom in recent years, including projects for the chareidi tzibur. Over 20,000 units have been marketed to the chareidi tzibur. The ongoing construction in Beit Shemesh joins this building boom, which over recent years resulted in 5,000 new units by the ministry in Beit Shemesh.”

Atias explains the ministry is working hard to alleviate the housing crisis and the building boom significantly assists in lowering housing prices.
