Tenders for the construction of 1,846 housing units in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel/2 were released on Tuesday. The tenders for Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel/1 were released three years earlier, the daily HaMevaser reports.

Towards facilitating the purchase of sections of apartments the Beit Shemesh Chareidi Housing Forum was established. This forum is overseen by gedolei hador and legally supervised by the office of attorney Shlomo Ness, CPA & Associates.

The forum has been working for months to prepare the criteria and to establish the necessary infrastructure towards the purchase of the homes, and in the coming days it will announce locations for apartment registration for group purchases. A two bedroom home with an option for future expansion will sell for 630,000 NIS. Equally attractive prices will be announced for larger apartments as well.

Ness announced that in the last months a working plan was formulated, one that meets the legal and logistical needs of the project as well as being customized to fit the chareidi tzibur, working with financial experts and other professionals. “I can only hope we merit the Siyata Dishmaya towards success on behalf of the tzibur at large”, he adds.

The committee has toiled to find philanthropists willing to underwrite some of the costs along with state subsidies in the hope of offering the chareidi tzibur quality housing at the lowest possible price.

Dr. Ness explains “I responded to the call from admorim and rabbonim to head the effort towards bringing these affordable housing units to our tzibur.” Ness adds the housing units are available to all sectors of society, not exclusively chareidim, in the hope of offering affordable housing for those seeking to live in Beit Shemesh. Ness advises people seeking apartments to keep an eye out for announcements and information regarding where and when one may register for an apartment.
