The letter of resignation given to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein on Monday by Deputy Finance Minister Itzik Cohen of Shas takes effect today, Wednesday, 6 Adar, 48 hours later.

That means Cohen will no longer by a Member of Knesset, to be replaced by Danny Sayde. He will however continue serving in his deputy cabinet post.

Since invoking the “Norwegian Law”, if Shas leaves the coalition or Knesset, then Sayde will no longer be an MK and the seat reverts back to Cohen.
