Must See Outrageous Video!

Click HERE to see a video of how the NYPD issues parking tickets to stolen cars. Watch the sad story about a Frum car dealer whose cars were stolen, ticketed, almost arrested for finding the cars himself, and watching the NYC Sanitation Department sell his car instead of returning it to him! A must see!

  1. Are you shocked? I’m not!
Another testament to how NYPD and most NYC agencies are SO corrupt!!
Quick question, how much did the junk yard pay the sanitation department? And who pocketed that money??!!

NYPD / Blue Wall of Silence = a bunch of corrupt people who are insecure, so they join the force to have POWER to boost their self confidence.

  2. Ich farshtay nisht, why doesn’t the car dealer sue the NYC sanitation dept??

Maybe if NY City’s lawyers get involved and a “real” investigation takes place, we can find out who the unscrupulous worker/s in the sanitation’s ‘sales’ division are taking the “kickbacks” for giving vehicles at such a “steal” of a price???

I wonder how Bloomberg would try to sweep this one under the carpet?? Though I bet you that if this would happen to his or his relatives’ vehicle someone’s head at Sanitation / Police would’ve already rolled!!

    Outrageous is an understatement!!!

  3. If the facts are as they seem, this is a major chutzpah.

However, I know of a late 1980s car that was stolen not long ago in Brooklyn, and the NYPD did notify the owner when they found the car.

How did they find the car? The punks who took the car left it on the Alternate-Side and it got a ticket. When it got the ticket, the NYPD punched the plate number or registration number, and found that it was stolen. The owner then went that day and let the towing company (contracted by the city) keep the car in exchange for no tow fee, since he wanted to junk it anyways.

My hunch, here, with the second car and sanitation, is corruption and/or bribery; it seems pretty obvious that somebody is getting a kickback somewhere, if they write that a clean-looking late-model Mercedes has extensive damage and is worth under $1250, when that is very obviously not the case.

The only thing I think he should have done differently is, at the site of the stolen car, to call the NYPD and ask if he could tow his own stolen car back, rather than doing so first and then telling them. If they wouldn’t talk to him, then I’d understand taking matters into his own hands, but it can’t hurt to first make that phone call.

  4. this happened to me years ago. no body in the city cared. (except that i had to go through a big hassle to get the tickets taken off).

the city considers everyone guilty of parking tickets, and will fight VERY VERY hard to keep its tickets valid.

and of course, the police dept doesnt care about stolen cars. (unless its the precinct capt’s wife’s/girlfriend’s car)

the city’s rule book for parking court judges says the burden of proof is on the motorist. they got sued on that. so they changed the rule book. the burden of proof, once a signed ticket is issued, is on the motorist. lawyers dont want to fight the city on this, because the city fights VERY VERY hard on this issue (the city of new york legal division is sometimes notorious for spending $100,000 to save $1,000, something an ordinary lawyer will do.)

  5. #1, while this story defines corruption, it was highly inappropiate to label the entire NYPD ” a bunch of corrupt people who are insecure, so they join the force to have POWER to boost their self confidence.”
Who would you call in a time of an emergency? If G-D forbid you were attacked would you call the police for protection? Sure you would. They put their lives at risk daily and for you to disregard that and just blankly call them corrupt is plain wrong. Yes there are a few bad apples. But guess what , there are a few bad apples amongst us too, that does not make us all corrupt.

  6. Truth is.. this citizen should be getting free assistance from the NYC Public Advocate Office, reachable @ (212) 669-7200

In fact, advocating for and protecting the public from abusive city actions (or to sound more mild ‘failures in the system’) is specifically laid out as part of the PA’s mission.

See City Charter at Section 24(f), “…the public advocate shall… review complaints of a… citywide nature relating to services and programs, and make proposals to improve the city’s response to such complaints… receive individual complaints concerning city services and other administrative actions of city agencies; and investigate and otherwise attempt to resolve such individual complaints.”

Let’s see if Betsy is up to the job.

  8. As others have said, despite the problems here, the entire police and sanitation departments should NOT be labeled corrupt and/or power-hungry; many people have had many positive experiences with the NYPD (and the garbage does get taken out), and we should be, and are, grateful for that.

  9. SORRY TO SAY BUT THIS IS EXACTLY
