After 90 Days In Jail, The Last Peleg Prisoner In Released

After the completion of his 90-day prison term, Peleg protester Yosef Yona Ehrentreu, was released from military prison on Thursday morning, 23 Shevat 5778.

Ehrentreu sat in total isolation for his refusal to wear prison garb, in this case, IDF uniforms. His brother Yisrael was released a number of days ahead of him.

Yosef Yona is labeled by the Peleg-run HaPeles newspaper as “the last Olam Hatorah prisoner” to be released. He is the 63rd Peleg prisoner to be released, all arrested months ago during the wave of Peleg protests.

As part of the celebrations marking his release, Yosef will be taken to the Shaare Chessed neighborhood of Yerushalayim for a meeting and a bracha from HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, the spiritual leader of the Peleg faction.

  1. I think there was a mistake in the article:

He was referred to as “Olam Hatorah prisoner” but the word should be “ULAM” from the word non seen and disappeared from view. Peleg is certainly not from those who study Torah since
‘דרכיה דרכי נעים’ “it ways are the ways of peace or sweetness and Peleg certainly does not believe this….
