Shechem Resident Convicted In Murder Of Michal Halimi HY’D


Shechem resident Mohammed Harouf was convicted in the murder trial of Israeli Michal Halimi HY”D. The conviction is the result of a plea-bargain agreement, which states the murder was a nationalistic act – an act of terror. It is point out that the original murder indictment did not mention it was an act of terror.

The body of the 29-year-old victim was discovered near Holon. Police received a missing person report on Michal, a resident of Yishuv Adam in Shomron, learning she left home at the behest of Harouf, the convicted murderer. When returning to the scene with detectives, Harouf reenacted the crime, which included strangling her and smashing her head with a rock.

Her widowed husband told authorities she was five months pregnant when she was murdered and suddenly, their dreams had been shattered. He told authorities his wife and he enjoyed a good relationship.

It was explained that following the arrest of the suspect, as he detailed his actions and motives, it became clear his actions were indeed nationalistically motivated.
