An annual TGI poll reveals the exposure to newspapers and radio stations is published today and continues the trend in the national press, especially at the end of the week. Following is a look at major dailies and weekend newspapers.
Among the morning papers, Yisrael Hayom is the most popular newspaper with an annual exposure rate of 35.5%, a decline of about 4% compared to 2016 (39.2%). Yediot Achronot, in second place, also recorded a similar decline, from 34.4% to 31.5%, thereby preserving the status quo at the summit.
In the third and fourth places far behind are Maariv HaBoker, which, like Yisrael Hayom, is also a free-market with a 5.5% exposure rate (6.5% in 2016) and the country which is the only newspaper that strengthened this year with an insignificant increase of 0.1% to 4.3%.
Regarding weekend papers, Yediot Achronot also fell to 33.8 percent (37.8 percent), and Israel Hayom fell to 33.6 percent (37.5 percent). In third place was the sruga newspaper, BaSheva, which also fell to 6.2% (6.8%), bypassing Haaretz with 5.5%, which strengthened by two tenths of a percentage point from last year.
Makor Rishon first surpassed Maariv this week, rising to 3.8% (3.6%), bypassing Maariv this week, which fell to 3.3%, a decrease of 1% from last year.
