Following Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s ban against permitting Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita and Rabbi Shlomo Aviner Shlita from entering IDF bases or addressing soldiers, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott has prohibited IDF Chief Rabbi Brigadier-General Eyal Karim from meeting with Rabbi Yosef on Monday, 6 Shevat, as planned.
In addition, Rabbi Eliyahu called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to dismiss Eizenkott from his post in light of his anti-Torah policies since assuming command of the military.
Firing back, Eizenkott has ordered Karim to cancel his planned meeting which was set for Monday, 6 Shevat.
