Lincoln’s Birthday is today, Tuesday, February 12. Alternate Side Parking regulations will be suspended. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect. All government offices will remain open except for most courts which will be closed. Public schools will be open, mail delivery will follow a regular schedule, and there will be no garbage or recycling collection, or street cleaning.

Wow,How old is he turning? My grandmother, who is vacationing in Miami right now, claims she remembers Abe Lincoln when she was a little girl and that he was a liar. I guess that’s where the phrase “Dishonest Abe” comes from.
they weren’t celebrating lincoln’s birthday, rather mine
This is the only place I saw the fact that garbage would not be/was not collected on Tuesday, Lincoln’s Birthday. Radio stations and newspapers stated that “alternate side of the street collections were not in effect” but that could have been because the expected snow. They did not state that there was no garbage pickup so people put out their trash. The regular trash was collected Friday but the recycling stuff is still there now on motzaei Shabbos and will stay till next Tuesday. The Sanitation Department needs to publicize their schedule better!
