Beginning on Thursday 24 Teves, lasting for one week, maintenance will be performed on the tracks of the Jerusalem light rail to improve service.
The work will take place each night in 700-meter sections along the entire route. A special machine has been brought in from Switzerland to perform the maintenance, a machine used to maintain rails throughout Europe.
To avoid compromising service, the work will be carried out from 12:30AM to 5:30AM. These are the hours service is halted so there will not be an interruption in regular schedules. While work is taking place, the area will be closed to pedestrian traffic and adjoining areas of track may be opened and closed intermittently as required.
