El Al announces that flight 007 from Ben-Gurion International Airport to New York has been forced to make an unscheduled landing in Ireland. This was the result of “a burning smell” about 7 hours into the flight.

A plane is leaving Tel Aviv on Monday night the eve of 21 Cheshvan 5773 at 20:00 to accommodate the passengers stranded in Ireland. As such, flight 001 from Tel Aviv is being delayed until 07:30 on Tuesday morning.

Passengers are strongly advised to remain in touch with El Al for updates.
