President Peres to Inaugurate New Jewish Museum in Moscow


President Peres and President Putin will hold a working meeting at the Kremlin and will discuss strengthening strategic relations between the two countries.

President Shimon Peres will, on Tuesday, 21 Cheshvan 5773 leave on a state visit to Russia as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and will represent the State of Israel at the inauguration ceremony of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow. At the ceremony President Peres and President Putin will deliver speeches in front of assembled guests and the media.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the two presidents will meet in the Kremlin with the aim of strengthening and expanding the strategic, security and diplomatic relations between Israel and Russia.

As a special honor for President Peres, the Russian Academy of Science, the highest government body for science and research, will bestow upon President Peres an honorary professorship. The honor has been awarded to an exclusive number of world leaders who have made an outstanding contribution to the world. The award ceremony will take place during the president’s visit and he will deliver a speech for the occasion.

President Peres will use visit to Moscow as an opportunity for a meeting with hundreds of members of the Jewish community in Russia at an event with the leadership of the community, rabbis and youth.
