A section of Miami Beach was roped off after a possible military device washed ashore Wednesday morning, officials said.
The device was found on the shoreline near 9th Street, Miami Beach Police said.
Police tape was blocking the area, and a police drone was being used to inspect the device.
Local10 reported that the device was a military flare.
Photographs of the device were sent to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s bomb squad to determine whether it needs to be detonated.
Possible military device located at 9th Street Beach.
