Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotevely will not list the name of countries thinking of the move, but she told the media that “over ten countries” are indeed contemplating moving their embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem following America’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has already announced he has been speaking with Guatemalan President Kimmy Morales, who has signaled his country plans to make the move.
Speaking with Israel Radio on Monday, 8 Teves, Hotevely explained that only three weeks after US President Donald Trump made the announcement, “there are countries on all continents” that have expressed interest in following suit. She explained she cannot divulge the names, and that each case involves its own negotiations to address each’s unique situation. She did state some of the countries are European.
She told Israel that America is the superpower and it has decided to go against the grain, which seems to have opened the door for others to follow the lead.
“Other countries will recognize Jerusalem and announce the relocation of their embassies. A second country did it and I repeat it: there will be others, it’s just the start and it’s important,” Netanyahu said in a statement Monday.
Yisrael Hayom reports on Monday that both Honduras and Panama have contacted the PA (Palestinian Authority) to inform officials they are going to relocate their embassies to Jerusalem.
Honduras, like Guatemala, was one of the nine nations that voted in support of the US in the UN General Assembly’s resolution to oppose Trump’s Jerusalem decision.

I recently heard from somebody who lived in Mexico, that many Central and South American people have a deep admiration and maybe even obsession with Jewish people.
