Tens of millimeters of rainfall have been reported in areas around Israel as snow is accumulating on Mount Hermon in the upper Golan Heights.
54mm (2.12 inches) of rainfall are reported in Karnei Shomron on Monday morning 7 Teves. In Kibbutz Ilan in the north, there are 44mm (1.73 inches), Haifa 35mm (1.37 inches), and Jerusalem & Tel Aviv 30mm (1.18 inches). The Kinneret has risen 1.5 centimeters (0.59 inches) for a first time since April. The Kinneret now measures minus 214.38, a critically low level.
The first winter storm is expected to continue on Monday in many areas, following which the temperatures will increase once again and the remainder of the week according to forecasters will be dry.
