Former coalition chairman MK (Likud) David Bitan was questioned by Lahav 433 police on Sunday, 6 Teves, for the fourth time in the corruption case against him.
The alleged law-breaking activities attributed to Bitan date back to his tenure as head of the Rishon L’Tzion Planning & Building Committee, when he allegedly worked with organized crimes families, advancing their agenda to pay back personal debts amounting to NIS 1.6 million.
It is reported that to date, Bitan has been exercising his right to silence, not cooperating with police. It is reported that he is waiting for police to inform him if a deal has been signed with a state witness in order to determine just how solid the case against him is before cooperating.
