Volunteer paramedics and EMTs from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom arrived at the scene to provide first aid treatment to the pilot but reported that unfortunately the man was declared dead at the scene due to the severity of the injuries he received. The Fire and Rescue department worked to evacuate the pilot from the plane before he was pronounced dead
A volunteer EMT with United Hatzalah, Yoni Krispel said: “When I arrived at the scene of the crash together with a volunteer paramedic from United Hatzalah, we found the 72-year-old man not breathing and without a pulse after his ultra-light plane crashed near the fields of Merhavia. We were unfortunately forced to pronounce his death at the scene of the incident after Fire and Rescue Crews extricated him from the plane.”
Police said that they are investigating what went wrong to cause the plane to crash. The only occupant of the plane was the pilot.
