and regarding the OP and thread title – this wasn’t about being an ohev yisroel, it was about NOT turning a blind eye to a trial gone bad. I don’t know that Rubashkin is innocent and letting him out for being Jewish would be just as dumb as keeping him in there for that reason. You either have fair justice system or you don’t. His prosecution was corrupt, it was proven and ignored, Trump did what Obama should have done years ago when the proof came thru.
