Brezhnez and Co., for example, were right described as conservatives. Historically European conservative parties have at least bordered on antisemitism. This was also true of some on the American right pre-William Buckley, who purged them from the conservative movement. Of course, once classical liberalism became established those who supported it came to be considered conservative.
