Magen David Adom reports receiving the emergency call for injured children as a result of a hand grenade exploding in Cola Forest near Elad. The events surrounding the explosion are unknown. As a result, three children were injured. One was listed in serious condition (14) with upper body trauma and the two other children (ages 9 and 11) were listed in light condition at the time of transport.
MDA paramedic Miki Nemesh and EMT Elad Yisrael Shemesh said: “When we arrived there was a great hustle and bustle, in an open area behind the bus terminal we saw the three children who were fully conscious and suffered bloody injuries all over their bodies after being injured by an explosive device. The one about 14 was lying on the ground while he was in a serious condition, and two children, aged 11 and 9, were in a minor condition, and we gave them basic medical care that included dressing and stopping bleeding, and extricated them from the area to the bus terminal using field stretchers. We took them to a paramedic unit and other ambulances. They were transported to Beilinson Hospital, all listed as stable”.
When asked, the Beilinson Hospital spokesperson stated the older child was in very serious condition upon arrival and the others light-to-moderate condition.
