Former Mossad Leader Flown Home from Belarus

Former Mossad Director Meir Dagan in back home in Israel following a liver transplant performed in Belarus. The senior intelligence community official’s surgery was under a media blackout to avoid placing him at risk but after the surgery, the president of Belarus announced the news, placing Dagan at risk.

Dagan could not receive a liver in Israel or the United States because he did not qualify, being too old. As such, he made arrangements for the transplant in Belarus.

He is reported in stable condition in a hospital in the Tel Aviv area following his return home.
