Tel Aviv: Armed Bandit For a Shwarma

One has to wonder why a bandit would risk arrest and imprisonment for a shwarma, but that is exactly what occurred in the Tel Aviv area.

A gunman in his 30s entered a shwarma restaurant and brandished a gun demanding the counterman prepare him a shwarma, which we assume was ‘to go’. According to the Yediot Achronot report, the armed robbery occurred close to midnight, and the counterman managed to summon police.

The bandit changed his mind at some point and decided to flee the store. At the same time, police received another report of an armed male seen on the same street. Police arrived to fund the gunman placed his weapon to the head of a store owner. Police managed to apprehend him after a “short chase”. The suspect is in jail and is being remanded.

  1. “Police arrived to fund the gunman placed his weapon to the head of a store owner” ? so he held the store owner hostage?!? Why doesn’t it say that clearly in the article???
