Sderot city employees on Sunday launched a strike, traveling to Yerushalayim to protest. The city’s education system and city’s emergency dispatcher did not strike. A cut in the city budget due to the fiscal recovery plan prompted the strike, with striking workers calling on the national government to step in and assist.
City employees were joined by Mayor David Buskila in Yerushalayim, claiming there are cuts and workers are also being asked streamline as they try to implement the fiscal reforms but demands being made on employees are unreasonable.
