Degel Hatorah faction leader MK Moshe Gafne spoke with Channel 2 News, speaking out against the Peleg faction of litvish chareidi Jewry. He stated that “The Peleg, under the leadership of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita, are not chareidim. Chareidim do not act like this”.

Speaking with the motzei Shabbos Meet the Press program, Gafne expressed his support for the decision by Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, who resigned from his cabinet post over the Chilul Shabbos crisis. He praised Litzman’s actions, adding if he was offered him a cabinet post, he would opt for deputy minister with ministerial authority.”

Gafne added, “We know where we are living but we cannot close our eyes to the Chilul Shabbos”, adding, “We will not sit in a coalition with Yair Lapid.”
