There have been reports of two nasty Anti-Semitic incidents in London this week, an all-to-common occurrence in the city in recent months.
An anonymous caller phoned Braun’s Judaica in Stamford Hill, north London, just after 6PM on Thursday evening. An unsuspecting staff member answered and, after hearing the anti-Semitic slur, was left ‘shocked’.
Mr Braun, who runs the shop, told Metro.co.uk that they were all horrified by the incident.
‘Late this afternoon, just after 6pm, one of our staff members received a phone call at the shop,’ he said. ‘He picked up the call and said, as usual, “Hello welcome to Brauns, how may I help you today?” ‘The caller on the other line just said, “Hitler had the best ovens” – and then hung up.’
The staff member who answered the phone added that he felt ‘disgusted, shocked and frightened by this unexpected call, especially when my grandparents and most members of my family perished in the war’.
Staff immediately called Shomrim Stamford Hill and the Metropolitan Police to report the incident.

Earlier this week, a shocking trail of antisemitic graffiti was daubed along 400 metres (1300+ feet) of the trail along the canal between Kensal Green and Wormwood Scrubs in London.
The graffiti included swastikas, calls for non-Jews to “wake up”, and claims that the Holocaust was a “hoax” and that six million Jews were not murdered.
A local resident, Ben Riddle, came across the graffiti while out jogging and told Campaign Against Antisemitism that he was shocked at how “brazen” it was, and “how much graffiti had been written”.
Shortly after Mr Riddle found the graffiti, it was discovered by a police patrol which called the local council to remove it. A police investigation has now been opened and police officers would like to hear from anybody who saw the graffiti so that they can narrow down when the vandalism occurred.
People are urged to contact the Metropolitan Police with information regarding either incident.
