Ads for kosher phones appearing in some chareidi areas apparently are a bit less than kosher. The phones bear the logo of the Vaad Rabbonim for Communications and everything about the phone looks kosher, but in actuality, it is regular phone that accepts a regular non-kosher (treif) SIM card.
The vaad has been placing a pashkavil to inform the tzibur that the phones in that particular ad are not kosher and unacceptable.
Chadrei Chareidim adds the store selling the kosher phones also offers a kosher iPhone and other services not generally available to the kosher telephone consumer.

I have no doubt that the person that thought of this cruel plot to be chotei umachti those who are trying to be holy and watch their eyes is guilty of using the internet to view things that are assur.
I didn’t know SIM cards could get punctured lungs.
To curiosity- Please spare us the sarcasm. Treif SIM cards are a growing problem in the community. Treif SIM cards must be kashered. According to the Mashgiach at SanDisk,
The treif SIM cards needs to be removed form the phone and left out on a clean surface for 24 hours. Prior to kashering, the contacts must be cleaned with alcohol and then rinsed with filtered water. Next, immerse the SIM card in a pot of boiling filtered water for several seconds (The water must be brought to a bubbling state.)
Remove your koshered SIM card and rinse again with filtered water. This method of koshering can also be used with your treif cell phone, Ipod, Itouch, Iron, Blackberry, Laptop, GPS and humidifier.
To Curiosity: Maybe you need to enroll in Telecommunications Yeshiva 🙂
