Dozens of homeland security ministers, police chiefs and mayors from across the Globe will Participate in “Israel HLS 2012”, the 2nd International Conference for Homeland Security, Tel Aviv, November 2012.
Among those in attendance: The Director of Security Services for the Organizing Committee of the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, the Director of Security Services of FIFA, and the police chiefs of Milan, Atlanta, and Chicago.
Next month, November 11-14, 2012, the Israel Export Institute will convene the 2nd International Conference for Homeland Security – Israel HLS 2012.
The conference, to be held in Tel Aviv, will focus on the four “hot” subjects of homeland security: cyber security, smart cities (urban security), protection of critical infrastructures, and crisis management.
Those scheduled to attend the conference include Mr. Luiz Fernando Correa, Director of Security, 2016 Brazil Olympic Games Organizing Committee; Mr. Mederios, Security General Manager, FIFA 2014 World Cup, Brazil; Commander Tullio Mastrangelo, Milan Local Police, Italy; Mr. George N. Turner, Chief, Atlanta Police Department; Superintendent Garry F. McCarthy, Chicago Police, and Prof. Jürgen Stock, Vice President of the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA), Germany.
Also attending will be a variety of mayors, ministers of defense and homeland security from around the world.
Adjacent to the conference, the guests from abroad will conduct business meetings with Israeli companies, and tour a professional exhibit, in the framework of which, some 60 leading Israeli companies will present innovative homeland security solutions. The guests will also tour the Port of Ashdod and its security network.
The event is organized by the Israel Export Institute in cooperation with the Israeli ministries of Industry, Trade & Labor, Foreign Affairs, Homeland Security, Homeland Defense, Defense – SIBAT (Defense Export & Cooperation),the Port of Ashdod, and the Israel Exhibition Center.
According to Mr. Ofer Sachs, Export Institute CEO, “the global homeland security market has significant business potential for Israeli companies and businesses. This is one of the world’s most rapid growing and changing markets in recent years, with an annual growth rate of approximately 6.5%, and an estimated global investment of approximately $188 billion in 2011, for manpower, training and technology acquisition. It is estimated that by the year 2020, the worldwide expense for homeland security will reach $330 billion annually”.
