A number of children were invited to a session of the Knesset Finance Committee, which is chaired by Yahadut Hatorah MK Moshe Gafne. One child asked, “What is it that you do here exactly”, resulting in laughter from participants.
However, Gafne took the time to explain after the laughter subsided, using the nationwide apartment shortage as an example of one of the problems tackled by the Knesset committee. Gafne tried to truly explain so the children taking part in the session can have a learning experience.
He explains that the committee is currently addressing a law that if passed, when you are married and looking for a place to live, the option of long-term affordable rentals will exist as a result of this law. It is boring at times, but we are working to help people. We hope you will join us from time-to-time and it is important, and this building is all of ours, our democracy and Knesset.
