Felder: Don’t Forget To Vote! Presidential Primary Election Day In NYC Is February 5th

felder1.jpgCouncil Member Simcha Felder is reminding area voters that election day for the Presidential Primary is February 5th, the earliest it has ever been. Voters can find their poll site by calling Councilman Felder’s office at 718-853-2704, or by visiting www.vote.nyc.ny.us. Polls will be open from 6AM to 9PM.

“Voting is an important civic responsibility for all Americans. Everyone has an ancestor that lived in a place where they were unable to choose their government officials,” Felder said, “We are lucky to live in the greatest country in the world, and have the ability to choose the officials who run our government, and we must not take it for granted.”

Councilman Felder recently worked with the NYC Voters Assistance Commission and his colleagues in the City Council to make sure eligible citizens were registered to vote by the deadline, a month earlier than the usual February deadline. Felder pushed for voter registration drives throughout his district and he and his staff spent a day at FDR High School in Brooklyn to pass out voter registration forms and teach students about the importance of voting.

“It would be a shame if someone successfully registered to vote, but didn’t make it out to the polls on election day,” Felder added.

  1. Unfortunately, many frum people do not vote. There have been heimeshe menchen up for seats as judges and barely anyone voted. African Americans and Latino managed to come out to supprot their candidates. If you don’t vote vote, no politician will take you seriously.
