According to a Channel 10 News report, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is weighing the possibility of heading a new centrist-left-wing political party that would also include Tzipi Livni, who succeeded him as the head of the Kadima Party. Also mentioned on the roster of the new party are Yair Lapid and Chaim Ramon.
Analysts feel that if Olmert announces his return to the political arena, his presence at the leadership of a centrist party would represent a formidable challenge to a reelection effort by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
