The Ukrainian security service prevented a vandalism act against a Kievan synagogue, Inter-Fax reports. Authorities detained, after a physical altercation, a Ukrainian citizen when he attempted to vandalize, damage the synagogue and to make insulting inscriptions on it. The perp stated that he was promised a cash reward for his criminal actions.

The Security service’s special department against xenophobia searches for the organizers and assists police in investigating the case.
