Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A firebomb was hurled at a Jewish motorist in Shomron on Sunday night near the Arab village of Luban el-Sharqiya, north of Yishuv Eli. B’chasdei Hashem there were no injuries. The attacker threw the incendiary device from a vehicle passing in the opposite direction.

** A guard in an eastern Jerusalem bank was attacked and stabbed in his head with a screw driver by an Arab. He was transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital. His injuries are described as light. Police report the motive for the attack is unclear at this time.

** Egyptian media midday Monday reports tanks are moving into Sinai again, in the el-Arish area as part of another major anti-terrorism operation.

14:00: Rocks were hurled at a bus traveling on the Gush Etzion-Hebron Road near el-Aroub. Baruch Hashem there were no reports of injuries.

** Firefighters are still battling a large brush fire in the Atlit area which they add may be the result of arson.
