Williamsburg: Shabbos Morning Fire Being Investigated


fdny1.jpgThe FDNY and Hatzolah responded to a fire at approximately 6:15AM EST, on Shabbos morning, in the basement of 118 Hooper Street (near Bedford Avenue). The FDNY reported that there was a minor extension of the fire, but brought the fire under control at 6:48AM EST. Boruch Hashem all occupants were safely removed from the building. The FDNY Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.

  1. i think when such a story is posted it should also say why fireman were allowed to come on shabbos. we dont want anyone to just assume that you can call the fire department whenever you want on shabbos. im sure they did whats rightbut i just wanted to point that out
