Does anyone know anything about the reliability of the Cherry K Vaad Hakashruth in Cherry Hill, NJ?
Why dont you call them up ask them the appropriate questions, to see if the answers satisfy the standard you keep for yourself.

Its very difficult to “call up” a local vaad or hashgacha agency and “ask them” about their reliability….what are they going to tell you.. “Of course, our mashgichim are big talmeidei chachamim and yirei shamayim and are able to stay awake most of the time to assure that no treifus walks through the door…”. Your best bet is to find some local chassideshe hashgacha, if one if available, and either patronize their establishments or ask them to opine on any others. Some will disagree, but in the large percentage of cases, you can’t go wrong with chassideshe hashgacha.
What list of hashgachos can be relied upon as all being reliable hashgachos? cRc puts together such a list and feivel mentioned Kosher Quest. Are both their lists reliable as to only listing reliable hashgachos? Any other such lists?

Your best bet is to call the certifying agency, ask them what their standards are and then, ask them how they ensure those standards are being met.

How would you know whether they’re actually ensuring it as they state they are? Speaking of no agency in particular, no one’s going to admit they only show up once a year.
There are many chassidish hashgachos that provide supervision outside of the larger concentrations of frum yidden, to the extent a local establishment wants to be able to offer the assurance of high standards of kashruth to its clientele.

Not everybody thinks that chassidishah hashgachos have “high standards”. Many of those same hashgachos rely on the OU/Star-K/OK/Chaf-K mashgiach who is local to that area. Very rarely do you see such hashgachos on private establishments in areas with smaller frum populations.
Saying that a hashgacha is reliable simply because it’s chassidish is naive.
Some are reliable, but some aren’t.
Chassideshe or heimeshe hashgachos are smaller, and because they are smaller there are both advantages and disadvantages. If you speak to people with serious knowledge of industrial kashrus, you will be amazed. Life isn’t as simple as you think.
In general, call the Rav of the local frum shul, explain your standards and respectfully inquire about the vaad and if this would be equivalent to what you have in your local area. Most of the time, the local rav can give you an honest picture of the state of affairs – including what establishments are and are not to your standard. If you do not know enough about kashrus, especially industrial kashrus, to make an informed judgment, ask your rav. Many rabbanim, especially in EY, will call a local vaad or rabbanut for you and tell you if it’s to your standards.
there’s some great advice here. but sometimes if you’re lucky you dont even have to call and ask if they are reliable. some kashrus agencies have a website you can check to see if they’re reliable!

Oh, I know he was.
The pizza store is run .by a frum person who is there always and has star k aside from cherry hill. The fleishig restaurant has ok certification aside from the vaad and has
mashgiach. The bagel store which solely has the cherry k l is trusted by the Chofetz Chaim
yeshiva and their Rebbeim and they even will get bagels there .
( the store does not have chalav Yisrael product).
