At least two rockets were fired into the Eshkol Regional Council are of southern Israel on Wednesday morning 25 Elul 5772 shortly after 08:00. Baruch Hashem the rockets landed in uninhabited area. There were no injuries or damage reports.
On Tuesday evening, sirens sounded in Ashkelon, Beersheva and other cities signaling incoming rockets. There was no attack. It appears the Red Alert system sounded due to a malfunction which is being investigated by military officials. Needless to say hearing the alert sent many area residents into the ‘run for the shelter’ mode and many were perplexed when they did not hear explosions signaling the impact of the rockets.
