Three chareidim from Beit Shemesh were arrested on Tuesday afternoon as they interfered with construction workers who they insist are violating Jewish kevarim. This construction site is the intended home of the new convention center in the city.

The site of the center is on the border of the Migdal HaMayim area, which is dati leumi and traditional families, and the chareidi area on the other side.

While an agreement was reached with Asra Kadisha before beginning ground breaking, permitting the organization to supervise construction, the activists arrested on Tuesday insist the construction is not adhering to the terms of the agreement.

The demonstration on Tuesday afternoon included several dozen unruly protestors. Police arrested the three, permitting workers to continue without interruption.
