Dear YWN,
I would like to share with you the attached image that I took off my dashcam a couple of weeks ago.
This is the story behind the image.
I was driving to my home located in the Monsey neighborhood, and not far from my house I saw multiple Hatzolah and police cars at a house in which an elderly non frum couple lived for many years. I noticed that one Hatzolah member was standing outside the ambulance with his arm covering his head and missing his Yarmulka.
Later that day I heard that the elderly woman had unfortunately passed away.
I later met my friend – a Haztolah member who was on the scene – and I asked him why that Hatzola member was missing his Yarmulka?
He said that while working on the patient the family was notified of the severity of the situation, and the woman’s son who lives not far ran over. He wanted to say Vidu at her bedside, but he didn’t have a Yarmulka. Without wasting a moment, this Hatzolah member gave the men his own Yarmulka, and waited there with his arm on his head for quite a while for the son to finish his prayers.
What a Kiddush Hashem you can only expect from our dedicated Hatzolah members!
